Ice Candy | How to make Ice Candy (Summer Recipe)

How to Make an Ice Candy

Ice candies, Icee-style candies and ice poles are great things to have during the summer and maybe even in the winter! Making your own is easy and also, you'll be able to pick whatever flavour you want it to be. From piña coladas to mangos, the flavours come in a great variety... it's up to you!

This tutorial uses Milo.

Ingredients

  • Milo or any flavoring, such as fruit flavoring.

Steps

  1. Decide on the flavour of your Ice Candy. If you're using fruits, you need to extract their juice.
  2. Prepare your flavour by either juicing it and pouring it into a cup.In this tutorial, MILO is used; which is an excellent short cut - all you have to do is create the MILO drink. You can use any similar powered drink flavour, or a liquid one, such as Raro, or Kool Aid.
  3. Mix the ingredients.Gently pour your flavour into the ice bag. Do not fill it to the top. Only put in enough to fill it about three quarters full. You may need someone to help you with the ice bag or you can use the spoon to prevent leakage.
  4. Tie a knot in the bag and place in the freezer.
  5. Leave the Ice Candy product in the freezer for an hour or two.Find something simply exciting to do while you wait for best results. After this time, your ice candy should be ready.
  6. Cut of the bottom part - not the one with the knot and devour your delicious home made flavoured ice.

    Thanks!

Put the water in a big pot, then bring to a boil. Add the sugar and salt and mix well until it is fully dissolved. Add the dissolved corn starch and powdered milk, stir very well to avoid the lumps formation. Boil for 8 minutes, then turn off the heat. Allow to cool for a few hours, then add your desired flavor. Pack in the ice candy wrapper and freeze until frozen, and it is now ready to be sold.
    Thanks!

If it's a fruit such as a lime, lemon, orange, or other squeezable fruit, then you can use simply hand squeeze it. If it's a watermelon, strawberry, or other solid fruit, then simply mash the fruit, microwave it for up to 25 seconds, pour the juice into a blender, with maybe a little bit of the fruit's flesh, and blend.
